Regenerating Land: A Day at Green Acres Farmstead in Sandyhook, Sunshine Coast, BC Canada.

I arrived to Paula asking for a hand planting some apple trees and took the opportunity to build a 5minute A-frame level out of scrap wood, dug some mini swales and planted the apple trees high on the swale mounds so that the roots could go down into moist soil but the stems would stay high and dry even in max rain events. Next time I visit I intend to plant some Comfrey as Dynamic Accumulator, Iris to outcompete the grass and Daffodils to attract bees 3 weeks before the apples flower.

It just feels so good to be working with nature!

Showing off the old school 5 minute A-frame
Only 2 things to check when making an A-frame. 1. The angles can't move, I used 3 nails to be sure, and 2. The Level line is drawn on ground you've actually checked is level. I used the garage that i checked with a spit level.

Bellow is a little video showing the function of the new mini swales for my friends at El Rancho De Cerdo Magico
